Pope has over 7million Twitter fans

POPE Francis has amassed more than 7million Twitter followers
-but he’s still a bit behind Lady Gaga and Beyonce Knowles.
The Argentinian Pope inherited the @pontifex account when he was chosen by his cardinals to succeed Benedict XVI in March.
Benedict attracted 2.5million followers after the papal Twitter account was launched in December last year.But the subsequent growth in numbers under Francis ,from 2.5million to 7million ,has been dramatic.
He has only tweeted on only 76 occasions – meaning that each tweet has,on average earned him 59000 new followers.
The Vatican has said the tweets are approved by Francis but not written by him.
He still lags stars such as Lady Gaga who has nearly 39million followers,and Beyance’s 9.5million .And he is a long way behind Barack Obama -the US preident has 33milion followers.
Francis like his predecesor,tweets in 9 languages,including English,Italian,Latin,Arabic and French.
Unlike celebrities or many ordinary people on Twitter,the pope does not give insights into his daily routine but insted sends oout snippets of religious instructions.

Egyptian President Ousted

The head of Egypt’s armed forces issued a declaration on Wednesday suspending the constitution and appointing the head of constitutional court as the interi head of state.

In a televised broadcast,flanked by military leaders,religious authorities and political figures, General Abdel Fattah el-Sisi effectively declared the removal of elected Islamist President Mohammed Morsi.

Sisi called a for presidential and parliamentary elections,a panel to review the constitution and a national reconsiliation committee that would include youth movements.

He said the roadmap had been agreed by a range of political groups.

Fireworks burst over Tahrir Square the centre of protests against Morsi,moments after the anouncement was made.

“The people and army are one hand.”protesters cheered in the square ,and the roar of horns and chanting,” a witness said.
